If the real estate in question is actually owned by a business rather than an individual, it should be listed on the FAFSA as a business asset. Contact Fidelity for a prospectus, offering circular or, if available, a summary prospectus containing this information. Private lenders will lend you cash to buy property in exchange for a specific interest rate. As with mortgage interest, the occasional check against the county auditor’s records (mostly available online) wouldn’t hurt.
